About the role
Cutri Fruit requires a Horticulture Section Supervisor to ensure that crop treatments are carried out as per established procedures and operators are trained to discharge their respective duties.
This position is full-time, and may be required to work shifts, including weekends.
This position reports to the GM Orchards.
Liaise with GM Orchards / Agronomist / Agricultural Technician regarding crop treatments
Liaise with maintenance division regarding maintenance of plant and equipment
Ensure all methods of crop treatments are done as per standard procedures. Pre-plant, fertiliser application, broadcasting of fertilizer and air blast spraying of chemicals
Ensure the weather conditions are suitable to perform the required task to achieve the best efficacy
Liaise with GM Orchards / Agronomist regarding scheduling of all crop water requirements
Monitor operations in garden growing to ensure work quality
Manage stock of fertilisers and chemicals
Carrying out instructions and attending to all ancillary farming activities as directed by Management;
Ensuring a safe fruit farm working environment
Skills / Experience required (key competencies, must haves):
A proven record of skills and knowledge in agriculture/horticulture;
Have considerable experience, fundamental knowledge and skills in farm operation;
Trustworthy person who can be relied upon;
Able to analyse and solve problems
Be a responsible person who can work in a team environment;
Enthusiastic, professional attitude and understanding of the objectives of the business
Skill Level:
At least Cert IV or equivalent AND 1 year relevant post qualifications experience
Salary being offered is between $63,000 to $75,000, dependent on experience.
