Who are we
Tumut Grove is a dynamic and fast-growing business. Our farm in Colignan, Victoria is looking for farm workers to join us for our upcoming harvest season.
About the role
We are seeking self-motivated and physically fit candidates to fill a total of 300 casual farm positions we have available from May 2024 to May 2025.
We require people to pick the crop and perform other general farm maintenance (including cleaning). Picking will commence in May 2024.
Some responsibilities of include but are not limited to:
• Preparing crop for harvest
• Picking citrus and table grapes
• General farm maintenance
• Working in a packing shed
Work commences between 05:00-07:00am with finishing times varying through the season depending on operational requirements, with some days work ceasing when the sun goes down. Our Farm operates 7 days a week during harvest so you may be required to work throughout the week, including weekends (subject to rest days off). All work is performed outdoors.
Remuneration
Remuneration through the period will vary, with some work being performed on an hourly basis and all other work based on a piece rate of pay.
All work performed on a casual hourly basis will be paid at the rate of $28.26 per hour (as per the Horticulture Award 2020).
Piece rates vary depending on the work undertaken, with all workers having been advised and agreeing to the rates prior to commencing the task. Any work paid at piece rates receives a minimum pay guarantee – this means that when you work on piece rates you will be paid at least $28.26 multiplied by then number of hours you work on the task.
About you
You must:
• Be ready and available to work throughout the entire period
• Be physically fit and able to pass a pre-employment medical
• Be willing and able to work weekends and overtime as required
• Show initiative and a strong motivation to work
• Be able to follow instructions in relation to job tasks and hygiene
• Be willing to work outdoors
• Have your own accommodation and transport to and from the farm
