About the role

An opportunity has become available for a Full Time or Part Time Medical Scientist at our Core Transfusion Department based at St John of God Subiaco Hospital.

In this role you will conduct a range of diagnostic testing that requires the applications of scientific technical knowledge and skills, within the core Transfusion Department

This position involves working in a fast-paced environment and requires applicants who are able to rotate through day, evening, public holiday and Saturday shifts. The successful applicant will have previous medical laboratory experience, display initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Laboratory Science or an AIMS accredited equivalent as a minimum
  • Demonstrated experience in a laboratory environment
  • Ability to cover all required shifts in a rotating roster 
  • High attention to detail and experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and successfully work as part of a team 
  • Exceptional communication, time management & organisational skills
  • The ability to contribute towards the delivery of customer focused services
