About the Role
This position is suitable for PGY3/+ looking to provide high quality medical services within our surgical units. SVHM has a strong commitment to supporting junior doctors in surgical training and a demonstrated success in postgraduate exams. The Supervisors of Training and an active Postgraduate Medical Education Committee ensure that surgical trainees receive maximum support and encouragement for developing clinical skills and preparing for exams and College requirements.
You will;
- Provide effective supervised day to day clinical management of both ambulatory and admitted surgical patients
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning
- Participate in continuous quality improvement, including collection of data for audit purposes
- Identify and understand the investigations relevant to a patient's presenting problem, using investigation results appropriately to guide patient management
Please note that HMOs will be allocated to one of our secondment hospits outside the Fitzroy campus. These may include rotations at Kew, PMCC, Werribee Mercy, Swan Hill District and Warrnambool Hospital.
Duration of appointment: 3rd Feb 2025 - 1st Feb 2026 (potential for longer contract)
Classifications for this position will range from HM13 - HM18 ($95,829.24 - $146,230.24 per annum)

- SVHM will conduct 20 minute personal interviews with shortlisted candidates prior to making offers. Interview requests will be sent to shortlisted candidates via email.
