We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the SydPath - Cytogenetics.

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Hospital Scientistwho possess a passion for person centred care. We welcome applications from people who are Manager to include desired experience/attributes.

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
2. Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification in a scientific field relevant to the practice of pathology.
3. Experience in a cytogenetics/molecular genetics laboratory with a sound knowledge of haematological malignancy.
4. Experience with karyotype and FISH analysis/reporting essential. Experience with DNA extraction and microarray techniques desirable.
5. Sound understanding of legislation, policies and requirements that impact the laboratory environment including work health and safety and privacy requirements.
6. Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills.
7. Display initiative, problem solving and analytical skills including an ability to apply established principles in a pathology laboratory and investigate and resolve general and complex issues within the laboratory environment.
8. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment while working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes and contribute to a range of diagnostic skills relevant to the laboratory.
