Matthew Flinders Anglican College is seeking an experienced, passionate, fun and driven hospitality professional to join our team on a permanent part time basis, offering 20 hours per week.
Ready for you to start now, this varied position will see the successful candidate work on a rotating roster across the Colleges multiple food outlets, with early starts, weekends and occasional evenings required.
As a vital member of our team, you will take charge of our morning coffee service, providing a delightful start to the day for both staff and students. Your adeptness in coffee preparation and a warm demeanour will play a pivotal role in setting a positive tone for the entire school community.
In addition to your coffee responsibilities, you will help to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
Your Role and Responsibilities include:- Craft coffee and beverages, catering to individual preferences and adhering to high standards.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of café offerings, promoting an appetising and hygienic environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in coffee and food areas, upholding our commitment to hygiene and safety.
- Other duties as allocated from time to time.
- Prior experience in a hospitality role, particularly in coffee preparation, is highly desirable.
- Experience in a school environment is advantageous, not essential.
- A Food Safety Certificate (or the willingness to obtain one).
- A Queensland Blue Card/Working with Children check (or the ability to obtain one).
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate seamlessly within a diverse team.
- Knowledge and experience of hygiene standards, especially as they relate to food preparation.
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of stock control and rotation
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a willingness to go the extra mile.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and a willingness to share ideas.
- The demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced role.
- Maintain a degree of flexibility in working hours from time to time as required for the position
