(pro-rata) plus up to 17% superannuationRanked number one university in Australia for First Generation Student Enrolments (Good Universities Guide 2022) and with top rankings in Victoria around student support, social equity, skills and employment, we are driven to make difference to every student and the community providing lifelong learning, skills, and research locally, regionally, and globally.With University and TAFE campuses in Ballarat, Berwick, Gippsland, and the Wimmera we are positioned to provide pathways from vocational education and skills training through to higher education.About the role You will be responsible for the production and delivery of quality food items to our retail, residential and function services by ensuring goods and food preparation are coordinated in an orderly fashion.You will:produce internal catering, food products and beverages for sale;check, order and receipt stock;ensure storage areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition and that stock is secure and stored appropriately;assist; with kitchen flow to ensure timely delivery and restocking of retail food items;ensure adherence to all kitchen menus and procedures to deliver a high degree of quality and consistency; andparticipate in the preparation of menus and kitchen schedules, including cleaning and OHS matters.About you Reporting to the Catering Operations and Functions Supervisor and working with the Chef you will have experience producing catering, food products and beverages for sale. You will also possess preferably a trade certificate in cookery. You will possess:highly developed customer service and public relations skills;the ability to establish effective working relationships within a team and the ability to work independently;well developed organisational skills, with the ability to anticipate and prioritise work demands; andproven ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.All University positions delivering education and/or services to children must hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
