The Opportunity
Our HR/People, Capability & Development Advisor will partner with the business providing advice and support to our leaders and team members on all aspects of the People function. This is a true generalist role in a diverse and exciting industry, an opportunity to work on something different every day and have fun while you work.
Our Team is currently in the design phase of our new HRIS, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our Team and vendor gaining firsthand experience in the build and rollout of our new system across the Club.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Assist with the maintenance & development of PC&D information platforms, business processes & data
- Manage VRC’s onboarding process for new starters
- Lead the Work Cover claims management & return to work process
- Support the Learning & Development strategy of the team
- Manage the VRC Learning management system data & application
- Design & produce specific training & learning modules as required
- Support the delivery & action of culture & engagement related initiatives including staff briefings, events, competitions, and activities as required
- Manage the setup, rollout, and analysis of employee surveys throughout the employment lifecycle
- Produce Club wide communications to support the PC&D strategy and keep our staff informed of Club news.
- Update policies, procedures, and practices to keep them in line with legal requirements & best practice.
- Provide advice and support on policy, process, and legislative requirements. Assist internal stakeholders to address issues arising in the workplace and build VRC’s desired culture.
- Assist with our end-to-end recruitment processes
- Identify & drive improvements across our processes to enhance the employee experience
- Work collaboratively within the team on a range of projects and strategic initiatives

About You
You take pride in the role you play in an organisation, and you have passion and energy to work in a dynamic and busy environment, which is focused on collaboration, ongoing improvement, and innovation. You have demonstrated experience as a trusted HR Advisor in a unionised workforce and relevant Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources and or Psychology and knowledge of HR Legislation.
As a HR professional you understand the importance of providing advice in line with Legislation, Policies and supporting our operational requirements whilst mitigating risks to the business. You are experienced applying Enterprise Agreements, managing work cover claims and have demonstrated capability in designing and delivering a variety of training solutions.
You are a proficient user of Microsoft applications; are the go-to when it comes to finding system and process efficiencies and have previous experience using a LMS & HRIS. With your finger on the pulse with HR trends, an irrepressible ‘can do’ attitude and ‘what if’ approach, you are a natural creative problem solver.
You are flexible and responsive to change with a strong delivery focus and accountability for results.
