ABOUT US
From humble beginnings as a single automotive dealership in Launceston, Local Motor Group (LMG) has, over the past decade, grown to become a significant force in the Tasmanian automotive industry, employing 550+ employees, and operating upwards of 30 Dealerships across the State.
Our core business involves the sale of new, demonstrator, and used vehicles, as well as vehicle servicing; supply and sale of parts and accessories; and finance & insurance and car-care products related to vehicle purchasing.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Group Human Resources Manager, our HR Generalist will be responsible for enabling the successful performance of the people across our business. You will do this by supporting recruitment, driving policy, emphasising compliance, providing advice on employment law matters, coaching our managers, and adding to our organisation’s culture.
As we seek to consolidate following a period of rapid expansion, and to future proof the business in the post covid landscape, this role will serve as a trusted business partner providing both strategic advice, as well as support for operational activities across the employee lifecycle, with a focus on systems and processes.
Key responsibilities of the role will be the successful recruitment, onboarding and support of our people, driving employee engagement initiatives, and the effective case management of employee related matters. You will work to provide quality service delivery, advice and support.
While operating across the full employee lifecycle, noting that we are a small team, this role will play a lead role in performance review/management and end-to-end recruitment including preparation of position descriptions/job design and coordination of recruitment campaigns. Recruitment campaigns may include schools engagement, participating in career expos, sourcing of candidates, including overseas workers, and their onboarding.
The role exists to ensure we continue to build our people for future growth and are sufficiently agile to respond to changes in the market and automotive industry generally.
Whether you have one or 10 years’ experience, we would like to talk to you. We are looking for the right person to fit and grow within our team.
