Hays are pleased to partner with a company dedicated to preserving and protecting the Great Barrier Reef. Passionate about seeing, loving and protecting the reef, this organisation is expanding and seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join the team on a temporary contract for up to 6 months.
Your new role
In your new role, you will be required to:
- Apply contemporary, best practice HR knowledge and practice to support the Reef Authority in maintaining a skilled workforce within a changing work environment.
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Lead, manage and direct all aspects of project management including planning, executing, monitoring, reporting and contract / supplier management.
- Consult and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to understand current and emerging views and considerations.
- Undertake research and analysis to inform and provide recommendations.
- Undertake necessary steps to review and amend policies, procedures and processes as required.
- Prepare written briefs, communication materials and project updates as required to a high standard.
- Manage associated resources effectively and within budget, including staffing and procurement within Commonwealth Procurement guidelines.
- Contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment within the HR team.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will require:
- Knowledge of contemporary human resource practices and systems.
- Formal qualifications in Human Resources or 3+ years’ experience in an HR related role.
- Project management qualifications or experience managing projects.
- Experience in HRIS and recruitment/onboarding platforms and policy development & implementation.
- Experience in one or more key functional areas within HR (e.g., Recruitment, Learning and Development, Payroll, Employee Relations, or Project Management).
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens and be willing to complete an Australian Federal Police Check (National Police Check)
