As the HVAC Engineering Expert, you will be responsible for responding global requirements in the field of HVAC Systems and execute the HVAC Sub-Supplier contracts to ensure deliverables are achieved and within budget and in scope. You should also have working experience with F&G and Gaseous Fire Suppression Systems including interfaces with HVAC System.

 

The successful candidate is an HVAC Engineering Expert who has experience in design and execution of HVAC systems for Switch Rooms, Control Rooms, Transformer Rooms, Battery Rooms and VFD Rooms within any of the following industries:

 

  • Oil and Gas
  • Mining, Metal and Mineral Processing (MMM)
  • Data Centre
  • Renewable Energy

Responsibilities

  • Support GMSEE lead and Attend Technical Excellency Committee to prepare procedures, instructions, guidelines, company standards, etc. in the field of HVAC
  • Mentor junior HVAC engineers in technical matters and identify gaps in their knowledge and experience to help them prepare their development plan.
  • Review customer RFQ package and understand project requirements in respect to scope, HVAC solution, documentation, etc.
  • Able to prepare HVAC system RFQ packages for HVAC suppliers and communicate to clarify their queries to ensure compliance with customer requirements and applicable standards.
  • Review suppliers' proposals, verify proposed solutions, identify gaps by preparing TBE and CBE and analyse price vs scope.
  • Prepare and/or review HVAC system design documents and ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.) and certification requirements (CLASS, IECEx, etc.)
  • Manage HVAC sub-contractors as package responsible engineer during project execution to ensure compliant design and complete delivery of scope and equipment
  • Attend equipment inspection and FAT in addition to system commissioning and system integration testing events and prepare comprehensive reports

Ideal Candidate 

  • Degree or qualification in the Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in design and execution of HVAC systems for Switch Rooms, Control Rooms, Transformer Rooms, Battery Rooms and VFD Rooms
  • Knowledge of heat dissipation mechanism of Electrical equipment such as Switchboards, Transformers, UPSs and Batteries in addition to large VFDs
  • Experience with large scale Oil and Gas, MMM (Mining, Metal and Mineral Processing), Data Centre and/or Renewable Energy projects
  • Experience documenting requirements when dealing with large EPCM’s in On-shore/Off-shore and FPSO projects
