The Role

As our HVAC/R Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of refrigeration and air conditioning projects. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare accurate cost estimates for refrigeration systems based on project requirements and specifications. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that projects are completed within budget and meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications and drawings to determine HVAC/R system requirements
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors
• Collaborate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for HVAC/R components
• Assess project risks and provide recommendations to mitigate cost overruns
• Create comprehensive bid proposals that clearly outline project scope and pricing
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather relevant information
• Work closely with the project team to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in HVAC/R estimation
• Provide support during the negotiation of contracts with clients and subcontractors
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience as an HVAC/R Estimator or similar role in the construction industry
• Familiarity with Refrigeration systems, equipment, codes, and standards
• Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office applications
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
• Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field is preferred
• Prior experience working on commercial or industrial HVAC/R projects is a plus
