ABOUT IMC
Illawarra Metallurgical Coal (IMC) produces premium-quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a permanent full-time position based at the Regional Operations Centre, Port Kembla Coal Terminal in Wollongong, NSW. You will also be required to spend portions of your week at our IMC Operations including Dendrobium and Appin Mines.
As the Specialist Hygiene, you will have an opportunity to work closely with Operations to ensure our sites comply with all company and health & Safety obligations/regulations.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
- Attends site to educate teams on effective management of hygiene risks
- Actively participate in investigations and drive best practice
- Provide input into the strategic direction for hygiene management to reduce long-term risk exposure, support legal compliance and promote enduring hygiene outcomes
- Analysis of hygiene data, including event management and assurance outcomes
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Understanding of hygiene management processes and technologies and relevant industry standards
- Experience working in a similar role within an operational environment
- Ability to identify issues, analyse data and recommending practical improvement and solutions
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships
Qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma (Science / Safety / Engineering / Similar)
- Member of Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (MAIOH) as minimum.
