The Role
We are seeking a Hygiene Superintendent to join our passionate and diverse HSS team.
Reporting to the Senior Regional Director- HS&S, you will be the regional subject matter expert and provide guidance for the development and implementation of all Hygiene strategies and practices across all sites.
You will be actively engaged and lead a regional team of hygiene professionals and ensure hygiene systems and processes are in place to support legislative compliance and improved health risk outcomes for the site.
Key responsibilities:
Communication and engagement with site leaders
Liaison with key external parties e.g. regulators
Deployment of hygiene resources
Hygiene cost management
Design and execute site hygiene education awareness program
Ensure compliance with legislative standards, including delivery of hygiene monitoring, water quality monitoring and chemical management
Provide data to inform risk based health surveillance program
Ensure exceedances are investigated, reported and corrective actions are recommended to site leaders
Ensure QC and accuracy of hygiene data and reporting
Develop annual hygiene monitoring plans
Champion hygiene improvement plans with asset leaders and Operations teams
Complete site investigations of rockfall, rock noise and geotechnical hazards;
Update and report on rock fall, seismic and other databases
Your skills, training and experience checklist
Tertiary qualifications in health, HS or science discipline, with experience in occupational hygiene
Experience in mining or similar heavy industry
Strong communication, engagement and influencing skills
Ability to:
Lead and develop a team of professionals
Problem solve complex issues
Coach, support and influence site leaders
Knowledge and understanding of:
Key risk management and assurance processes
Hygiene legislative and regulatory requirements
Analytical capability
