About the role
The ICT Manager role is a high level position overseeing the organisations Information and Communication capabilities.
You will oversee the organisations ICT planning and strategy functions as well as being tasked with system selection, implementation, management and process improvement.
The successful candidate will have spent time in mid to larger size organisations, be completion focused and have the capacity to see and implement a vision with the hunger to make an impact and influence change.
With the ability to manage stakeholders, think strategically and develop the organisations ICT function your responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
Qualifications & experience
- Systems implementation experience
- Review of all pending system requirements with a view to ensuring all proposed systems meet the businesses requirements
- Review and prioritisation of all systems and formulation of a continuous improvement program
- Stakeholder management against system deliverables
- Review existing MSP and other service providers to ensure service deliverables and values are aligned
- Establish network infrastructure and systems for all new sites
- Ensure all possible initiatives / projects are documented with clear plan / budget and prioritising of implementation initiatives based on resourcing.
- Identify and communicate to key communities / stakeholders within organisation on IT initiatives, issues and significant changes affecting the organisation.
- Development and implementation of ICT policies and strategic plans in consultation with stakeholders
- Ensure users (employees, contractors, clients, partners) are provided reliable and efficient up to date technology and services
- Maintenance and continuity of IT services through a consistent delivery of operations (Infrastructure, Hardware, Software, Network and auxiliaries) whilst monitoring security vulnerabilities.
- Establish efficient processes and documentation for systems, policies, and procedures.
- Establishment and maintenance of relationships with clients, industry contacts and professional bodies to ensure the business is provided with the most up to date and progressive technology and systems
- Maintenance of hardware systems, management of network expansions, system upgrades, and management of licenses for key applications.
- Security of internal systems, including antivirus protection, and crisis/disaster recovery strategy
- Assisting staff with hardware and application related issues
- Experience with database administration protocols and ensuring integrity of business database information.
- Budgeting and managing purchasing processes for hardware and equipment, as well as management of a team or contractors in the ICT Space.
- Proficiency in corporate systems as well as the Microsoft Suite of Products.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Minimum 5-7 years prior experience in a Senior IT role
- Relevant tertiary education
- Strong technical knowledge of desktop / LAN hardware and software.
- Extensive Software management experience.
- Ability to run training for employees including IT inductions for new starters.
- Thorough knowledge of security policies and practices.
- Effective problem-solving, negotiation skills
- The ability to think outside the box, be creative, find solutions and collaborate.
- Good time management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple problems at once and prioritise issues.
