The Role
The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia's economic and national security landscape for decades to come. This role will play a pivotal part in ensuring the critical ICT capabilities used by our workforce are fit-for-purpose, responsive to sensitive and time-critical duty requirements, and built on technology stacks in line with industry advances. You will design, build, monitor and manage systems and platforms with a strong focus on agility, security, and resilience.
The position will attract a Building Capability Payment (BCP) which enables the ASA to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace.
In accordance with the ASA Enterprise Agreement 2024 - 2027, additional remuneration provisions may be available for the preferred applicant based on the relevancy of their skills and experience. This can be discussed further as part of the recruitment process.

- Leads and is accountable to perform and achieve very complex ICT solution design work within an integrated workforce
- Require extensive knowledge of and compliance with compliance frameworks, government decision-making and ASA's mission and policies requirements
- Exercise a significant degree of independence and perform an important leadership role
- Responsible for influencing and developing ICT strategies, policies, priorities and operational practices in support of ASA objectives based on high level decision making and judgement
- Provide strategic ICT advice to senior management and stakeholders as well as leading and assuming accountability for very complex work that have strategic, political or operational significance
- Provide strategic ICT direction to the division, including developing business plans, strategies and priorities and monitor work flow and performance
- Extensive knowledge relating to the methodology, systems and procedures essential to the ICT strategy and architecture function and have the ability to translate this into delivery
- Provide a strategic level of specialist, professional and technical expertise, potentially relating to the work of different function areas
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with a network of stakeholders internally and externally.
