Import/Export Coordinator

An exciting opportunity for an experiencedImport/Export Coordinator to join the Blue Water Shipping team in our Hamilton office. 

Reporting to the Project Manager, East Coast, this position will be responsible for coordination and support of Import and Export operations across all verticals.  

Your accountabilities will include:  

• Strong focus on client deliverables & Customer service/satisfaction 
• Freight Forwarding of regular shipments by road, air, sea or others.
• Import and Expert Operations
• Prepare and manage all necessary documentation for importing and exporting goods.
• Track shipments to ensure on-time delivery/accurate updates to customers.
• Work closely with suppliers and vendors to coordinate the movement of goods from origin to destination.
• Communicate effectively with external stakeholders including suppliers, freight forwarders, carriers, and custom brokers and authorities.
• Strong focus on meeting/exceeding operational KPI’s set by BWS management.  
• Promote a strong culture of teamwork, comradery, ownership & accountability. 
• Continued review of shipping costs to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. 
• Actively provide training and guidance where required to your peers and direct reports. 
• Support in operations for assigned Projects. 
• Reviewing and enhancing existing operational processes and procedures

To be successful in this role, you'll need: 

• Diploma or First Degree 
• 5+ years Freight Forwarding experience 
• Comprehensive experience in CargoWise
• Import and Export Experience
• Strong negotiation skills 
• Complete understanding of BWS values 
• English spoken and written – CEFR Level 5 
• IT – Intermediate Word, Excel, and Outlook
