You’re passionate about tackling youth unemployment and understand the need to deliver tailored and customised support. You are a people person, and you LOVE building relationships. You have experience mentoring and supporting young people, working with employers and achieving 12/26 week outcome targets! Because you’ve worked in employment services or training, you can hit the ground running!
You know not every day will be the same, you can switch from meeting with employers, to connecting with young people in the blink of an eye. Changing lives is your passion but you still embrace rolling up your sleeves and mucking in to get the job done. You’re full of creative ways to meet people where they are at and believe that engagement shouldn’t be a one size fits all model. You always see the person, not just their immediate situation because you understand that everyone has different needs, and that is okay.
A bit about the roleThe In-Work Support Mentor plays a critical role in ensuring post placement support is delivered to young people and employers in an efficient, timely manner and to a high-quality standard. The In-Work Support Mentor will work with both employers and young people to ensure their employment remains constant and work with both parties to actively increase a young person’s capacity in employment. They are focused on providing ongoing support to customers and employers within the appropriate employment services program to ensure sustainable employment and outcomes are realised. The role devises interventions and solutions to work with young people and employers to improve prospects of maintaining sustainable employment, while also appropriately planning and developing employer’s workforce to create future employment opportunities and to improve overall staff retention.
The In-Work Support Mentor is responsible for uploading documentary evidence to lodge claims through the CoAct Central Claims team. They are an integral part of our Employment & Training portfolio and will work across our Werribee, Hoppers Crossing and Point Cook sites.
