Location: Work From Home but Travel across Melbourne with some interstate is required but with plenty of notice.

Position Overview
Mentoring Men is a men's mental health charity supporting adult men within our community through personalised one-on-one life mentoring and community education.
Working with a grassroots men's health nonprofit organization presents an exciting opportunity. This role has become available following the successful acquisition of a contract to support men in Melbourne, primarily focusing on the South East Melbourne region.
A team of 8 dedicated staff based in Sydney will offer assistance and guidance to any new team members. With a small group of established mentors already present in the Melbourne area, you won't be starting from scratch. Instead, you'll have a promising opportunity to expand our presence and Support within Melbourne.
The emphasis is on identifying suitable organizations aligned with Mentoring Men's vision and facilitating mentors' and mentees' recruitment, support, and engagement.
Role Responsibilities
Enrollment and Assessment
• Ensure completion of onboarding interviews for all active applicants.
• Follow up on outstanding documentation as part of the application process.
• Collaborate with other team members to match mentors with mentees.
• Provide relevant referral information based on applicants' needs.
Ongoing Assistance
• Conduct regular check-ins with mentees and mentors to ensure their safety and well-being, balancing building relationships and setting appropriate boundaries.
• Periodically review meeting notes and inform the team and CEO of outcome measures.
• Generate pertinent reports derived from risk assessments, incident reports, and KPIs.
Peer Support Groups
• Establish and Support mentor peer support groups.
• Maintain communication with group facilitators and provide session frameworks for sharing updates and information.
Developing Community Relationships
• Identify target groups to aid in the recruitment of volunteers for Mentoring Men.
• Promote the Mentoring Men service through public speaking and presentations to establish partnerships and stakeholders.
• Assist the broader team in managing volunteers during events.
• Contribute to the strategic plan while achieving critical KPIs set by funding partners.
Operational Assistance
• Impact operational outcomes by contributing to ongoing program development and enhancement through involvement in strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Create new initiatives and resources to enhance Engagement and promotion of Mentoring Men.
• Ensure data integrity by regularly updating records, databases, and surveys as required.
Data Collection and Surveys
• Gather information, stories, feedback, and surveys per the contract's needs and the organisation's reporting requirements.
• Respond to and assist mentors and mentees as necessary during session updates.
• Provide updates and data for board reporting and organisational data sharing.
• Keep the CRM and information inbox up to date with the latest mentor and mentee information.
Qualifications
Partial or complete completion of relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Coaching, Social or Behavioral Sciences, or equivalent vocational qualifications or life/professional experience.
Skills & Experience
Experience in managing and Supporting volunteers, including handling confidential situations and building relationships.
Familiarity with client management systems (preferably Salesforce).
Understanding of peer-based support networks.
Awareness of issues and current trends in men's mental health.
We have extensive program management experience, including staff leadership and team building.
Knowledge of relevant agencies involved in mental health referrals.
Personal Attributes
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on systems.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office.
Ability to engage non-judgmentally and respectfully with men from diverse backgrounds.

• Occasional weekend work, such as attending events or presentations.
