AddressBehaviour Support Practitioner - Independent Contractor
Yellowbird is fully registered with the NDIS and therefore is an audited company with stringent training and on-boarding requirements. To be the right fit to work with us, you must have:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety & You’
- Have an ABN, understanding that this is a true Contractor position and you'll need to organise your own taxation.
- Superannuation will be paid by Yellowbird.
- Contractor Insurance (PL & PI)
- Recognised as a suitable Behaviour Support Practitioner under the NDIS - at the Core level or above
- Be willing and able to complete our complementary training (all online through our Learning Platform, done in your own time). Alternatively provide evidence of same or similar professional development.
- Current First Aid Certificate and updated CPR.
- Have a NSW Driver's License, vehicle registration & insurance
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Be willing and able to use our Microsoft systems, produce reports, visit clients, complete tracking (notes) in CRM, and participate in team discussions & professional development.
- Have language skills which enable professional reports and case notes to be produced, and/or have your own support person/proof-reader, at your own cost, who has signed a Confidentiality Agreement with us and who proof reads your work prior to submission to Yellowbird.
- Your own business equipment such as Laptop, mobile phone, home office materials
- Comply with and sign the NDIS Code of Conduct
- Your own complaints management and resolution system. Policy to be provided.
- Your own incident management system. Policy to be provided.
- We will run a billables report from CRM, and all evidence must be attached to each billable entry ie copies of email correspondence, resources created, drafts, raw data, detailed case notes, reports, letters and Behaviour Support plans - version numbered. Your invoice to match the billables, once evidence of work is verified will be processed fortnightly.
- kms are not billable due to the limitation of NDIS platform unless the plan is a pace plan. We encourage you to maintain your own business travel car log to claim via your annual tax.

About your new role
- Meet with NDIS participants to gain an empathetic understanding of their goals, wants and needs.
- Motivated to increase client case load via your networks.
- Collaborate with their support teams including families, schools, medical and allied health providers, accommodation providers and support workers.
- Gather data through assessments, observations and interviews.
- Write and implement Behaviour Support plans, providing training and coaching to NDIS participants and the important people in their life.
- Clinical Autonomy
- Support clients in-person and/or through telepractice.
Professional Expectations:
- Commitment to engage in relevant ongoing professional development opportunities that align with the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework. Retain annual learning plan and learning reflection log evidence for NDIS audit compliance
- It is an expectation under the capability framework that all Behaviour Support Practitioners receive supervision. Be prepared to provide a copy of your external supervision plan and log for audit NDIS purposes.
- Evidence based practices and a positive Behaviour Support approach. We do not use Applied Behaviour Analysis in any way, nor any other compliance, or coercive methods of responding to people.
- A desire to reduce and eliminate the use of restrictive practices.
