The Central Queensland Region Partnerships and Programs team is looking for a motivated Indigenous Partnerships and Pathways Officer (IPPO) to support culturally enriched learning of all children and every student.
The IPPO will support regional teams and school staff to strengthen educational achievements, wellbeing and engagement, and culture and inclusion, through Equity and Excellence, embedding First Nations outcomes across every priority.
This position will include travel to rural and remote schools within the Central Queensland Region.

About the Role
As the Indigenous Pathways and Partnerships Officer (Identified) you will:
- Support disengaged or students at risk of disengagement to re-engage with school or an eligible option.
- Develop partnerships with community, government and non-government agencies, and develop cultural awareness in schools, that will combine to enhance outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Mandatory Requirements for and Identified Role:
It is a genuine occupational requirement for Identified roles that the position be filled by an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person as set out in Section 7 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1991 for the purposes contained in Section 25 of that Act.
Verification of Aboriginality and/or Torres Strait Island heritage
For administrative purposes, in relation to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified role, an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a person who identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is either:
- of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent;
- accepted as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community in which he or she lives.
