The Role Description:
The role of the Industrial Designer is to assist in all design engineering projects driving innovation in products and services for custom projects, marketing initiatives and customer programs.
Job Tasks and responsibilities
· Take and interpret design briefs from Customers and Sales Team.
· Create concept drawings and 3D images for customer understanding and marketing initiatives
· Design manufacturing drawings from various stages of sketches to concept drawings from customers and sales team ensuring suitability, functionality and performance of drawings prior to submission to factories
· Participate in the Prototype, QC and production review process.
· Ensure projects are quality assured to expected standards from concept through to production and delivery.
· Provide suggestions for improving current designs both for custom and existing products.
· Work with all stakeholders including customers, factories, project coordinators, sales teams, inspectors, sourcing and others to achieve the results required.
· Contribute to R&D and New Product Development process.
Essential Requirements
· Tertiary design qualification
· 3D CAD software (SolidWorks)
· Illustrator
· Photoshop
Preferred Requirements
· 3D Printing
· Free hand sketching ability
