Randstad is currently recruiting an exclusive role for an Industrial Engineering Lead for our clients located in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. You would be joining a company that specialises in Energy solutions and are globally recognised as an industry leader, operating for more than 100 years.
Based out of one of their manufacturing sites in Melbourne, they are on the hunt for someone who is a natural leader, confident in project management and has a strong background and understanding of Industrial Engineering. This role will give you the opportunity to be a part of a team that has great staff retention and the ability to give you career progression.
In this role you will work directly with a mentor that has been within the company for 25 years and will help with your professional development in this role.
YOUR DAY TO DAY:
Coordination onsite management for facilities related to external contractors including contacting relevant contractors, gaining quotations and management of invoices.
Completing and maintaining induction records for external contractors and ensure all contractors on site have completed and submitted relevant risk assessments and/or safe work documents.
Laise with building owners to facilitate inspections, building upgrades and/or any other maintenance works required.
Ensure team members meet deadlines and support their development, training and motivation.
Providing clear direction, guidance, and support to team members.
Design, draw and coordinate the manufacturing of small jigs and fixtures required for use by the facility with both internal and external suppliers.
Ownership of the preventative maintenance schedule to ensure minimal production downtime including occasional outside of normal business hours support.
Maintaining and developing new plant layout, assembly line, and other facility related drawings (AutoCAD)
Review of new product and part drawings to assess suitability inside the production environment.
Facilitation of NPI related activities into the manufacturing facility
Maintain and update site related drawings including traffic management, evacuation diagrams, and other engineering related documents.
Maintain appropriate communications as the single point of contact for external contractors into the manufacturing facility.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Minimum 5 Years relevant experience working within a Manufacturing/Production facility.
Degree Qualified Engineer or other applicable degree
Experience in CAD (AutoCad preferred).
Experience with management & control tools Jira & TFS.
Ability to work in a team and/or individually.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Previous facilities management
Prior management of people highly desirable
Computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word and other MS Office applications. Knowledge of
Software IDE is desirable.
