We are seeking an experienced Sewing Machinist to join our close-knit team based in South Windsor and be responsible for sewing custom awnings to order.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Operate fabrication machinery and welding equipment
- Follow job sheet instructions accurately
- Follow inhouse manufacturing processes
- Processes include sewing, textile heat welding, splining and side-hemming.
- Cut fabrics either manually or machine assisted
- Ensure quality control standards and production deadlines are met
- Conduct yourself in a professional and safe manner at all times
- Maintain tidy work areas and equipment
Specific Requirements:
- Proven experience in heavy Industrial Sewing and textile production
- Ability to read and write in English
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to problem solve
- Quick learner with a proactive approach
- Safety Conscious
- Mathematical understanding to accurately measure different size skins
- Good physical strength and stamina as occasional lifting is required (10-15kgs)
- School Certificate or equivalent is preferred
- Australian work rights

- Hours of work: 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday to Thursday and 7:00am - 1:00pm on Fridays
