The Project

McConnell Dowell and CPB Contractors, along with Design partners Mott McDonald, Arup and Aurecon have been awarded the Tram Grade Separation Projects as an Alliance, comprising of works at three main locations along the Glenelg Tram Line. The level crossings at Marion Road, Cross Road (MAC) and Morphett Road (MTX) will be replaced by tram overpasses, removing the interface with road traffic and creating new public spaces beneath. This project will improve network efficiency and safety at their locations for all users.

Your Opportunity

Reporting to the People and Capability Manager, you will work closely with the internal project delivery teams and the Client, to deliver on our Tailored Industry Participation Plan (TIPP) commitments. The Industry Capability & Workforce Development Advisor will assist the Project in achieving its local procurement, inclusion and training and development commitments, ensuring strategy, implementation, and management of activities to drive success. 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Experience in a similar role related to local content, local economic participation, Workforce Development and training, social inclusion and indigenous engagement within the construction industry
  • Knowledge of government policies and requirements in the construction industry.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain key client, project and stakeholder relationships.
  • Capability to engage and influence various project delivery teams to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Be solutions orientated and have highly developed planning, organisational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and confidently with stakeholders, as well work within the People and Capability team.
  • You will display the ability to effectively negotiate solutions and deliver on commitments, and positively influencing throughout all levels of the business.
