Infection Prevention & Control Coordinator
Key Co-working Infection Prevention and Control role within a small Quality and Risk Management team
Up to Full-time 36 hours per week
About the role
The Infection Prevention & Control Coordinator provides evidence based support and leadership in the provision of both safe patient care and work practice environments. You'll provide daily, routine and project assessment, monitoring, evaluation and reporting on IPC risks and outcomes. Join the leadership team across both the Lenah Valley and St John's Hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, evaluate and report on key IPC activities to meet the requirements of local, state and national protocols, guidelines and the Quality & Safety Health Services Standards.
- Undertake staff immunisation assessments, surveillance, investigations and process audits including regular reporting and feedback to staff.
- Provide collaborative leadership and expert advice and liaison for patient management and organisational IPC risks, including outbreak and contact tracing events
- Active engagement and representation with key stakeholders and networks regarding specialist advice, strategies and updates
What you bring
- AHPRA Registration (required), Nurse Immuniser and/or Hand Hygiene auditor endorsements (desirable)
- Excellent sills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
- High level computer skills including MS Office, recruitment and surveillance software, and hospital patient and pathology systems
- Person centred approach to supporting staff patients and families in communication IPC risks and system features.
