About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Inflight Services, the Inflight Logistics & Systems Lead to optimise our supply chain through timely and efficient delivery of goods. In this role, you will manage inventory levels, coordinate with our 3PL provider, and streamline transport and inventory management operations. You will ensure accurate and synchronized systems (Oracle, Touchpoint, and Omnevo) across the supply chain function, maintaining data discipline and structured processes.
In addition, you will oversee Galley Planning, ensuring efficient utilisation of onboard space, proper weight distribution, and adherence to safety regulations.
- Produce, maintain, and coordinate Inflight Logistics Standard Operating Procedures with Inflight Services colleagues, ensuring a uniform approach to releasing information.
- Record and manage information relating to product weights, ensuring that they do not exceed statutory levels.
- Review Galley Plans periodically and ensure best practice is always being followed.
- Re-balance the network of stock first and foremost rather than calloff stock from a supplier or the central warehouse.
- Manage 3PL provider against agreed SLA’s and contracted obligations
- Manage catering provider against agreed SLA’s and contract obligations.
- Manage all planned system outages and ensure all service providers have the relevant information ensuring seamless operations.
- Validate the 3PL invoice, ensuring the invoice accurately reflects the agreed shipment activity form the prior month.
- Plan and forecast for new products onboard using the VA flying schedule as a basis .for preparing shipments,
Who we’re looking for:
- Relevant experience, ideally in catering or aviation (but will consider other backgrounds)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the square
- Experience of reengineering key processes & delivering continuous improvement concepts
- Understanding of galley Planning and Retail system.
- Dynamic person with both analytical skills and strong people skills
- Experience working through the operational requirements of a business
- Understands supply logistics and can holistically see how catering impacts other parts of the business, e.g. crew
What we're looking for:
- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline (such as economics, management, mathematics, or a commercial discipline).
- Knowledge of financial planning and analysis concepts (such as preparation of profit and loss statements balance sheets; and basic financial ratios).
- Experience in strategy or insight’s function, or a role involving quantitative analysis.
- Data analysis skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerBI.
- Experience building reports and dashboards to be used in commercial optimisation functions.
- Experience working with complex and multi-source data sets.
