  • Full time ongoing position
  • Salary based on experience, range: $75, 669 - $97,921 plus super
  • Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model

About the role:
In this role, you will provide court-based and phone support and assistance to people affected by family violence with matters before the Melbourne Specialist Family Violence Court. This will include liaising with duty lawyers, family violence social support workers, court staff, private practitioners, other court users and agencies. 

You will also be required to assist court users in the early identification of family violence risk, provide legal Information and explain court processes, and provide referrals to appropriate legal or non- legal services in a timely manner.

You will contribute to best practice family violence service delivery initiatives through engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders such as VLA staff in different program areas, Community Legal Centres, Aboriginal Legal Services, Court staff, family violence support services and the general community.

This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office and the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Wurundjeri Country.

About you:

  • Knowledge of legal processes in the areas of family violence law matters.
  • High level analytical and problem-solving to address clients' needs.
  • Understanding good referral practices using your knowledge of legal practices, and community and welfare organisations.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work within tight deadlines to support clients with complex needs.
