About the team
Our IT Services is a diverse team spread geographically throughout the BDO offices in Australia. You will have approximately 50 colleagues within this national shared services team, who just like you will be contributing to the success of the organisation. The work we do involves both back of house applications and processes as well as assisting our staff and colleagues to find efficiencies and improve the way they work.
Current opportunity
We have a newly created opportunity available for an experienced Information Security Analyst to join our team in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne or our Sydney office.
Working as part of the IT team and reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, this position will support the operation of the firm’s Information Security management system and the delivery of the firm’s Information Security strategy.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the operations of the firm’s Information Security management system and the delivery of the firm’s Information Security strategy
  • Support the Information Security team in maintaining the ISO 27001 certification, including but not limited to:
  • Development and maintenance of Information Security Policies and Procedures
  • Development of required documentation and reports
  • Support internal security auditing tasks
  • Support security awareness related processes
  • Implementing and maintain relevant controls as required
  • Support client security assessments in relation to BDO’s information / cyber security posture
  • Conduct third party Information Security risk assessments
  • Coordinate security assurance activities
  • Monitor identified security risks across the firm under the direction of security management
  • Support the delivery of the firm’s cyber / Information Security initiatives
  • Recommend and develop security controls to meet legislative requirements and frameworks relating to Information Security
  • Assist in the development of artefacts for Information Security reporting to key stakeholders
What you’ll need to succeed
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience supporting the delivery of cyber/Information Security and/or information technology implementations in a large corporate environment
  • Good working knowledge of cyber/Information Security, ISO27001 standard and NIST Cyber Security Framework
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in an ever-changing and fast paced setting
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, non-business hours, or other scenarios as required; and
  • Understanding/experience with hybrid cloud systems, particularly Microsoft Azure is desirable
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences is an added advantage
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining key relationships with senior executives and stakeholders to achieve the organisation’s objectives
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team and display initiative and integrity
  • Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills to enable effective communication and interaction with people at all levels
