Expressions of interest are being sought by Adelaide Plains Council from suitably qualified professionals for appointment as an Independent Member of Council’s Infrastructure and Environment Committee (I&E Committee).
Council’s I&E Committee was established in 2018 under section 41 of the Local Government Act 1999. Its key functions are to:
- Provide advice to the Council in delivering its Infrastructure and Environmental projects, services, and programs in line with Council’s strategic focus areas, ‘Great Places & Infrastructure’ and ‘Resilient Environment & Community’.
- Review, monitor and provide advice to the Council in relation to the Council’s performance in its provision of Infrastructure and Environmental initiatives, policies and processes.
- Provide advice and recommendations to the Council regarding its Infrastructure and Asset Management Plan and associated programs.
- Review and identify potential projects for input into Council’s Annual Business plan, Budget and Long Term Financial Plan and;
- Make recommendations to Council on matters pertaining to the management and protection of the coastal environment, biodiversity, and remnant vegetation.
Essential Requirements
The successful applicant will have a keen interest in strategic management with appropriate and relevant qualifications and experience in one or more of the following areas: infrastructure management (both strategic and operational), civil construction, and public realm management and maintenance.
