Position Purpose
Support and direct the Electrical and communications infrastructure O&M activities as required.
Position Responsibilities
· Oversee maintenance, operations, and troubleshooting of vital infrastructure systems for KDGC's Light Rail operations, including TPS, OMCS, MSN, AVLS, CCTV, TETRA, PIS, telephony, SCMS, and related technologies.
· Provide training, mentoring, and technical support to the maintenance team.
· Manage contracts for subcontracted maintenance, including upgrades and patches.
· Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely, timely, and meet defined standards.
· Assist in ongoing assessment and analysis of condition monitoring for contractual compliance.
· Monitor team budget and address discrepancies.
· Lead or support customer performance reviews.
· Apply engineering principles for trend investigation and root cause analysis.
· Produce technical reports as needed.
· Utilize sound asset management skills to support asset management plans.
· Lead Operational Technology Change Management.
· Ensure up-to-date configuration management.
· Develop, review, and modify work instructions and procedures as directed.
· Ensure full audit compliance and meet asset availability KPI targets.
· Represent Engineering Manager at meetings as required.
· Ability to undertake On Call Manager duties periodically as required;
Competencies Required
· Essential Qualification: Educated to degree level in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology or Mechatronics Engineering;
· Preferred (but not essential) experience in the following industries: Rail, Transportation, Utilities;
· Preferred to possess qualifications and technical expertise in Traction Power systems, Multi Service (Operational Technology) Networks, Operation and Maintenance Control Systems, and other technologies relevant to integrated infrastructure networks;
· Proficiency in diagnosis and troubleshooting of complex infrastructure systems;
· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure;
· Be able to read and understand engineering specifications, schematic drawings and sketches;
· Ability to assimilate and apply unfamiliar technical information quickly and accurately;
· Project Management skills; and
· Minimum two years’ post-graduate experience working in multi-functional technical teams, with the ability to plan and organise workload for self and others;
