Job description

We at Chandler Macleod are seeking a full-time, experienced, Infrastructure Permits Officer to in safeguarding Council's crucial infrastructure assets.
This involves overseeing the efficient delivery of asset permit and consenting processes, including customer service workflow management, bond administration, and compliance. By ensuring a seamless and compliant process, the officer contributes significantly to the protection and preservation of Council's infrastructure assets, fostering a robust framework for sustainable development and community well-being.
Key Responsibilities

  • Utilise Councils corporate systems to record, manage and distribute correspondence within areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and review administrative systems and workflows to support continuous improvement and consistency of service delivery.
  • Promote and ensure Council's Service Standards are met, customers' requests are handled efficiently in a knowledgeable, confidential, and timely manner ensuring delivery is responsive, first point issue resolution and customer centric.
  • Manage all aspects of business support processes and promote system utilisation.
  • Processing and reconciliation of payments received for permits and/or bonds, including the return of bond amounts held by Council at the completion of works.
  • Process infringement notices, warning notices and notices to comply as required.
  • Prepare correspondence, notices, reports for Council/Committee, briefing notes, agendas and minutes, contract documents and other documents.
  • Respond to enquiries of a works or operational nature and provide technical advice or promptly escalate to the appropriate area for action.
  • Research and compile statistical information and reports.
Requirements and experience:
  • Completion of secondary education plus:
  • a degree or diploma with some relevant work experience; or
  • lesser qualifications with relevant work skills; or
  • relevant experience and work skills commensurate with the requirements of the position.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including written, verbal, and active listening, with the ability to adapt style and approach to meet customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of customers.
  • Willing to undergo a National Criminal History Check
  • A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence.
  • Willing to complete a Functional Assessment (Physio/Medical Examination)
