About the role:
Our Safety, Health & Wellbeing Team (SH&W) play a key role in supporting our primary strategic goal; a Safer Place to Work Every Day. Our Injury Management approach is based on best practice early intervention, and we are looking for a passionate Injury Management Coordinator to join the Safety Health & Wellbeing Team at our Support Office in Docklands in a 12month maternity leave max term contract role.

Reporting to the Injury & Wellbeing Manager, as an Injury Management Coordinator, you will be responsible for implementing our early intervention approach and providing strategic guidance to business units. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing claims effectively and cost-efficiently while also developing strategies to enhance both Physical and Mental Wellbeing across our organization. This is a great opportunity to join a proactive and supportive team, while gaining exposure to self insurance and national WorkCover legislation.
What you'll do:
- Managing end to end Return to Work and Injury Management processes.
- Providing strategic guidance and technical expertise to business units regarding Injury Management and Workers Compensation claims.
- Implementing early intervention strategies to achieve timely and sustainable return to work outcomes, for both work related and personal conditions.
- Driving reduction of claims costs impacting premium, through strategic intervention, continuous improvement, and proactive Injury Management.
- Developing, coaching and educating Managers and Supervisors in best practice and first response Injury Management.
- Ensuring compliance and promotion of all occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
- Achieving compliance in all aspects of administration and reporting, including processing accounts and weekly compensation payments.
- Supporting the S&W Team in delivering safety and wellbeing projects in line with our Operational Plan.
- Minimum 2 years' recent Injury Management experience at either an employer/insurer/consultancy environment
- Appropriate qualification as a Return to Work Coordinator
- Demonstrated experience in early intervention and proactive Injury Management
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- High attention to detail and ability to engage with stakeholders
- Current Drivers Licence with own vehicle
- High Level of computer literacy/proven experience using computerised claims and Injury Management information systems including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Tertiary qualification in Allied Health or Mental Health First Aid accreditation - preferred
