About Psychology and Specialist Services - RACS

The RACS psychology department comprises of Clinical, Neuro, Health and Education and Developmental Psychologists who work across the sub-acute and aged mental health network of Kingston Centre, Dandenong and Casey Hospital. RACS psychologists work from a patient-care perspective, delivering high quality, evidence based assessment and treatment. The department values itself with key initiatives and portfolios to improve service provision and quality of psychological practice.
About the Role
RACS psychologists deliver evidenced based treatment to a variety of patients and have key roles working within the multidisciplinary teams across the sub-acute wards using a patient-centred care perspective. The Grade 2 Clinical Neuropsychologist will undertake a diverse role in investigating, identifying, documenting and providing psychological assessment and brief intervention to rehabilitation and aged mental health patients with cognitive, behavioural, psychological, and/or personality factors that are impacting on engagement and discharge planning. In addition to direct bed-based patient work, psychologists also provide secondary consultation to the teams and a broad range of relevant stakeholders. The Grade 2 role receives clinical support and triage, along with supervision from experienced Grade 3 neuropsychologists.
The role is a permanent P2 neuropsychology position located at Kingston Centre. The position is 0.8 EFT (or 4 days per week) but can be split into 2 positions if there are suitable candidates who only want to work 0.4 EFT (or 2 days per week). Flexible, family-friendly hours are supported.
About you
You enjoy working within a team environment and have a keen focus on fostering relationships to improve service provision and deliver patient-centred care. Your ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to a wide audience is a core competency for this position, along with excellent time-management skills and knowledge in working with patients with chronic and/or complex neuropsychological issues and strong assessment and report writing skills. You deliver evidence based psychological assessment that can be measured for effectiveness. You are dynamic and flexible and enjoy the diverse nature of ward based work.
