Inspectorate Support Officer

Part time - 1 year contract with potential for ongoing employment

RSPCA ACT is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join its team as a Support Officer for the Inspectorate team. As a Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in responding to enquiries from the public concerning animal welfare. The position involves working closely with all areas of the RSPCA team and community and government-based organisations to ensure the welfare of animals is upheld.

This is an entry level position and has the potential to evolve into a key role within the Inspectorate. An opportunity to undertake a Certificate IV in Government Investigations may arise on the completion of the set probationary period, with a view to developing a career in RSPCA ACT Inspectorate for the right candidate.

• Effective Interpersonal skills
• High degree of motivation
• Basic knowledge of animal care and handling
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy 
• Intermediate to advanced computer literacy including use of MS office suite of applications 
• Experience in diary management and organising or scheduling jobs
• A team player that can also work autonomously
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Hold a valid Australian driver’s licence
• Represent RSPCA ACT in a positive manner and in line with the organisation’s values.

Salary and conditions are in line with the Animal Care & Veterinary Services Award, Level 3-4 plus super.  RSPCA ACT also offers a number of employee benefits.
