Ready to make a splash in your career? WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Electrician (Full-time) to join our Operations team in Northern NSW. The key role, is to operate and maintain site-based SCADA and associated equipment, manage contractors on site and conduct contract electrical work audit and approvals. What you’ll do:

  • Ensure the accurate and efficient implementation, configuration, and maintenance of field-based instrumentation and control systems on a daily basis.
  • Identify and resolve electrical and automated system faults to minimise downtime for the Automation, Telemetry, and Communications Systems and associated assets.
  • Capture and store data to provide data for the maintenance management system and other related service systems.
  • Provide specialised technical advice and site specific knowledge for planning, conceptualisation, testing, implementing and security of, Automation, Telemetry, and Communications systems to reduce implementation risks and optimise performance.
  • Plan, procure, and manage SCADA maintenance projects, to achieve productivity and quality outcomes and ensure that all contractors are trained and qualified
  • Provide specialist electrical technical advice and also inspect, audit and approve project electrical work for compliance to Australian Standards, Regulations and WaterNSW standards.

What we are looking for:

  • Certificate III in Electro-technology Electrician and Qualified Supervisors Certificate – Electrical
  • Expertise in SCADA, Automation and PLC's
  • Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance of water infrastructure and ability to produce technical documentation.
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of water infrastructure involving SCADA equipment and associated electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Proven ability to find/rectify faults and maintain SCADA systems from SCADA server to site instrumentation.
  • Expertise in maintaining, fault finding, and programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and other field controllers, and with relational data base management.
