The Opportunity

With ACCIONA experiencing robust growth, we're on the lookout for a dynamic Senior Insurance Advisor to play a pivotal role in actively steering our insurance function, reporting directly to the ANZ Insurance Manager.

In this newly created role, the Senior Insurance Advisor is responsible for building partnerships across the business, helping the business protect our risk position and supporting the risk maturity journey across a global company.

Functional responsibility includes claims management, advising key internal and external stakeholders on contracts and risk allocation, insurance coverage / placement, and leading risk based commercial matters.

Please note this role can be based in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage insurance claims from date of loss. This will involve strategic claims management across the portfolio, as well as developing and leading claims strategy with the project, insurance brokers, project partners and external stakeholders to ensure timely and maximised claims settlement.

  • Analysing, managing, and renewing corporate insurance policies in Australia and New Zealand. This will involve determining renewal strategy with our global colleagues and broking partners.

  • Ensuring all insurance policies and relevant documentation is accurate as agreed.

  • Together with Acciona brokers, facilitating home-office arranged multinational placements and ensuring compliance with local legislation.

  • Prepare and draft ELT / board papers and other materials as required.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in law, Insurance, Business or Engineering disciplines preferred.

  • Proven experience of relevant insurance and claims experience, with specialty experience in construction, power & energy, professional indemnity or claims management ideally.

  • Hands-on individual with excellent communication skills and proven negotiating abilities.

  • A strong knowledge of insurance provisions in construction related contracts and the ability to advise on construction and other contracts.
