About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Integrated Rating you may be responsible for but not limited to the following areas: Deck Duties, Bridge lookout duties or Engine room duties.  You may also be asked to assist with training cadets and will work with the catering staff if required.

You are an experienced maritime professional who leads by example and delivers results through effectively working within large and diverse teams. With strong relationship building skills, you achieve operational objectives in a timely manner and to the highest standards. Cool under pressure, you remain focussed and composed, staying the course when challenges arise to ensure those around you focus on achieving the desired outcome. You’re a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional values in everything you do.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
  • AMSA issued CoP Integrated Rating with the following qualifications:
    • Security Awareness Training
    • Proficiency in survival craft & rescue boats, other than fast rescue boats
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Passport
  • AMSA Certificate of Medical Fitness
  • Confined Space Entry & Rescue
  • Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
  • Working Safely at Heights
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Antarctic Resupply voyages, Scientific Research voyages, small boat operations, crane operations

This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment as an essential selection component for this role. You must have the ability to become a Permanent Resident of Australia and be willing to undergo an AAD Polar Medical Examination.
