Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be able to:
- Use vertical ladders, gangways, floating pontoons.
- Work well in a team or solo. Able to lead and mentor apprentices
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Hold desirable tickets, crane, forklift, MR/HR license
- Self-starter able to identify maintenance opportunities
This role includes:
- Planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to a range of vessels and barges
- Repair and maintenance work to various ships systems.
- Installation and repairs to propulsion machinery, gearboxes and auxiliary engines, pumps, winches, cranes and other systems
- Dockyard slipping works
- General works to vessel and barge hulls and structures
Ideally, you will have the following experience:
- Diesel, Hydraulic, 12/24v DC Electrical
- Computer skills in Word, Excel and familiarity or ability to learn EAM systems
- Confined Space/Working at heights (or ability to obtain)
- MED/Class qualification (preferable but not required)
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role
