Integrity and Safeguarding Advisor at WAIS

Are you passionate about creating a safe and fair environment for high-performance athletes?  Do you have the drive to ensure that Integrity and Safeguarding are at the forefront of sports excellence?  If so, the Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) has the perfect role for you!

As the newly created Integrity and Safeguarding Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and embedding Integrity and Safeguarding systems and practices within the WAIS environment.  The dynamic position offers the opportunity to shape the future of sports integrity ensuring a safe and supportive environment for our people to thrive.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provision of Integrity and Safeguarding advice
  • Complaint management
  • Education and training
  • Policy and procedure development and review
  • Professional development and education

WAIS was established in 1984 to enable Western Australian athletes to achieve international sporting success.  We operate in partnership with National Sporting Organisations and State Sporting Associations along with the VenuesWest and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries to deliver a high- performance training environment for sports and athletes.

About you:

  • You care deeply about sports Integrity and Safeguarding.
  • You have experience in developing and implementing Integrity and Safeguarding or member protection systems (or similar).
  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You are a proactive problem solver with an ability to effectively prioritise competing priorities and manage your time. 
  • You are able to create effective plans to achieve specific outcomes.
  • You have a track record of managing complaints and dispute resolution processes effectively.
  • Experience within the sporting sector would be great but is not essential but a passion for sport will be a game changer!
  • Above all else, you are a genuine team player that cares about others and always acts with kindness and integrity.
