About the Role:
Safeguard Staffing is seeking expressions of Interest from both Junior and Experienced HSE Advisors for upcoming projects. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals at different stages of their careers in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management. As an HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting the HSE functions and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, helping to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development and implementation of HSE policies and procedures.
- Support the HSE Manager in providing guidance and direction to the management team and employees.
- Participate in regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Contribute to incident investigations and help develop corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.
- Maintain and update HSE documentation to ensure compliance with legal standards.
- Engage in meetings with clients and contractors to discuss and share HSE best practices.
- Support the management of employee injury cases and traffic management plans.
- Assist in the monitoring and reporting of safety performance metrics.
Requirements:
- Commitment to fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration to ensure everyone goes home safely to their families.
- Ability to plan and prioritise work efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Commitment to safety as a personal responsibility, following all required HSEQ standards.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously under pressure.
- Willingness to seek and give feedback, showing initiative in problem-solving.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
- Experience in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of HSE management systems and standards.
