Equinox Engineering Australia Pty Ltd. is an engineering service provider located in Brisbane, QLD. We provide high quality Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services to our clients in Australia and worldwide.
Equinox Australia is engaged in numerous Concept, FEED and Detail Design projects, working with several of the largest energy providers in Australia.
Equinox is looking for an experienced Intermediate Electrical Designer to join our Brisbane team to support the electrical side in delivering gas processing, compression facility and carbon capture projects. The Electrical Designer will work closely with the Electrical Engineering team, Project Management team, and other technical engineering disciplines. Key Responsibilities Deliver high quality electrical design and 3D modelling services. 2D drafting experience is complementary but will mainly utilise our in-house drafters.
Develop and prepare single line diagrams, schematic diagrams, and wiring connection diagrams.
Design, develop and prepare the layout drawings for the Electrical equipment locations, lighting locations, cable routings and cable ladder arrangements.
Perform design for the Earthing system and prepare the Earthing layouts.
Design, develop and prepare the support details for the Power Distribution equipment, switchgear, control panels, switchrooms, cable tray/ladders, light fittings, junction boxes etc.
Design, develop and prepare the installation details for the Electrical system equipment, power, distribution system, lighting system, Earthing system etc.
Prepare the schedules for Electrical equipment and cables.
Prepare the Material Take-Off for the cables, cable tray/ ladders, push-button stations, MCTs, junction boxes, lighting fixtures, bulk accessories etc.
Preparation of 3D models using Autodesk CADMEP and CADWorx 3D software.
Ability to assume Lead Designer role when and if required.
Review the Vendors’ documents for the adaptation of the wiring diagrams and layouts.
Assist in the preparation and evaluation of technical bid documents.
Co-ordinate with other disciplines and provides necessary technical data as required by them.
Co-ordinate and supervise the work of other electrical design and drafting personnel.
Skills & Abilities Solid understanding of the oil and gas industry with EPCM design experience.
Highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
Ability to coordinate and help facilitate our workshare program
Education & Qualifications
Experience Minimum of 10 years’ experience in drafting and design in the electrical discipline.
Oil and Gas, Petroleum, chemicals, or major process plant related industry experience in electrical design.
Exposure to construction activities.
Qualifications
AutoCAD certification.
A Degree or Diploma in Electrical Design / Drafting with discipline specific training.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience in electrical design and drafting.
Job Tools/Software
2D and 3D drafting software (AutoCAD, CADMEP, CADWorx, etc.)
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Industry Knowledge/ Geographic Exposure Should be familiar with the applicable standards and codes
