Job tasks and responsibilities
The Role: Full time Intern Pharmacist
As an Intern Pharmacist, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently dispensing prescriptions. We want a person who is passionate about helping customers with their medications. You will run and help manage the day to day operations of the dispensary and assist the pharmacy in the supply of medications to our patients – keeping any eye out on new medications and alerting the pharmacist if there is any issues that could help our patients. We are after a team player who would also love to assist customers in the retail floor and understand the importance of keeping the store looking great in the quiet times. You will be working with two pharmacists and two dispensary assistants as well as collaborating with the retail floor staff and beauty advisors.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Dispensing Prescriptions using FRED dispense system.
- Assist in sorting scripts and prepare the PBS claims
- Managing inventory
- Webster packing for Private patients
- Control dispensary stock including orders, stocktake & excess stock management.
- Regular checking dates of medication and ensure compliance with all legislative and QCPP requirements within the dispensary
- General customer service and advice applicable to Pharmacy
- Meeting Key performance indices that help boost the customer service experience and help the business
This is a Tuesday to Saturday position:
Hours of wok:
Tuesday 10am to 6pm
Wednesday 8am to 5pm
Thursday 12pm to 8pm
Friday 12pm to 8pm
Saturday 8am to 5:30pm
Skills and experience
Essential Criteria
- Must have provisional AHPRA intern registration
- S2/S3 certificate
- MUST have previous pharmacy experience in Australia in either a hospital or retail setting
- Demonstrated experience in dispensing medications (both private & PBS scripts)
- Strong customer focus & customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and proven time management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Be able to clearly and effectively communicate to customers and the team
- Maintain a professional and confidential approach at all times
- Be willing to learn and show evidence of continual development in pharmacy related health topics
Please note this is not an overseas candidate sponsorship position. Persons without any retail experience in Australia will not be considered. Also this position is not suitable for applicants that have not worked in recent times.
