Job description

You will be based in our Auckland, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney office as part of the Women’s Internship and Scholarship program. You will be part of a client project team, collaborating with colleagues and clients to solve their toughest business problems.

McKinsey’s Women’s Internship and Scholarship is a program designed to recognise talent and support women who would like to maximize their own potential. This program allows students from a broad range of university degree’s to receive first-hand consulting experience. Our Australian and New Zealand offices are inviting female undergraduate students to apply for McKinsey’s $20,000 Women’s scholarship and paid internship opportunity.

When you join McKinsey as an intern, you are joining a firm that will challenge you and invest heavily in your professional development. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on teams and help the best organisations in the world – across the private, public, and social sectors – solve some of their most difficult problems. You will also work with a range of experts in the firm, from data scientists to researchers to software and app designers.

You’ll work on a client team, playing an active role in all aspects of the client engagement.

In this role, your responsibilities will include gathering and analysing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, developing and communicating recommendations. You’ll gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. Interns receive frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues on their teams.

You will work with your McKinsey colleagues and with the client team, owning a distinct piece of the project. Some examples of the specific work may include interviewing clients, leading client teams, building financial models, creating and delivering presentations, and working with McKinsey subject experts to develop perspectives and insights for the client.
