Part-time Internal Communications and Engagement Officer – 

Work From Home with Wesbeam Pty Ltd site visits as required.
 

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and creative Internal Communications and Engagement Officer to join our team on a part-time basis (25 hours per week). This pivotal role will support our communications, employee engagement, and reward and recognition programs across the organisation. The Internal Communications and Engagement Officer will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will have the unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our national workforce. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with a strategic mindset, able to work both independently and collaboratively. You will have a knack for creating engaging content, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to driving employee engagement. Your ability to plan and manage activities with minimal supervision will be essential, as will your passion for fostering a positive and inclusive work culture.

Your duties will include

  • Creating, curating, and managing content for internal communication platforms including the intranet, notice boards, and communication screens.
  • Supporting and promoting our strategic goals to become a preferred employer of choice.
  • Coordinating and supporting stakeholder mill visits organised by the sales and marketing department.
  • Developing and implementing strategies, budgets, and initiatives to promote a culture of excellence and employee engagement.
  • Creating and managing a national calendar of activities, including birthdays, anniversaries, monthly events, and community service activities.
  • Collaborating with all levels of the organisation to ensure appreciation and recognition of employees.
  • Working with the marketing team for site-wide communications, promotional materials, and event planning.
  • Assessing and measuring the effectiveness and impact of employee engagement initiatives.
  • Encouraging and supporting communication and collaboration across departments nationwide.

Essential Selection Criteria: 

  • Experience with Microsoft programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, control, coordinate, and manage activities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communicator who works well independently and within a team.
  • Ability to think strategically and identify ways to improve communication efforts.
  • Must be resourceful and take initiative with minimal direction.

Desired Selection Criteria: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications (preferred but not essential).
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Experience with graphic design platforms (e.g., Canva).

Essential Requirements: 

  • Proof of Australian Working Rights.
  • Current National Police Clearance or willing to obtain at own cost (essential).
  • Drivers Licence.
  • Ability to complete a comprehensive Pre-Employment Medical, including a drug and alcohol screening with the company’s provider.
