Inventory & Logistics Manager

Location: Welshpool, WA

NOV Australia have an opportunity for an Inventory and Logistics Manager to join our Western Australia Team. The role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's inventory management and logistics operations for Downhole and ReedHycalog. This includes forecasting inventory needs, managing the procurement and distribution of goods, optimizing warehouse and transportation processes, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Comply with all NOV Health.
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize carrying costs.
  • Oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, and finished goods from suppliers.
  • Manage the warehousing and distribution of inventory, including the supervision of warehouse staff and coordination with third-party logistics providers.
  • Analyze sales data, inventory trends, and market conditions to accurately forecast future inventory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency, such as route optimization, carrier selection, and transportation mode selection.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, production, finance) to align inventory and logistics with overall business objectives.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory turnover, order fulfillment, transportation costs, and customer service levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to inventory management and logistics operations.
  • Continuously seek ways to enhance the company's supply chain and logistics capabilities to drive cost savings and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team and approved agents / distributors.
  • Follow safe working guidelines and practices.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in the oil and gas industry or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyse data sets and identify actionable insights.
  • Ability to work well within & without a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
