Investigator | State Government | 6-month contract

Hays have partnered with an important state government department to recruit an investigator within the Integrity and Assurance division.

Your new role

As an Investigator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of conduct and performance among department employees. Reporting to the Manager, Preliminary Investigations, your responsibilities include:

  • Offering procedural and policy advice to manage complaints, misconduct, unsatisfactory performance, and fitness for duty issues.
  • Supporting compliance with the Reportable Conduct Scheme.
  • Providing expert advice on employment actions resulting from misconduct investigations.
  • Managing misconduct cases and employee conflict issues.
  • Developing and maintaining effective case management records for reporting purposes.

What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A deep understanding of procedural fairness and workplace investigation processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement, Fair Work Act, and the Reportable Conduct Scheme.
  • Strong planning, organising, and written communication skills.
  • The ability to build and maintain effective relationships and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Initiative, accountability, and a proactive approach to identifying and seizing opportunities.
