SalaryIn this critical role, you will oversee all irrigation operations for our clients’ extensive almond orchards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all irrigation activities including irrigation and fertigation scheduling, soil moisture testing, and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure.
- Assist with irrigation implementation for the remaining stages of property development.
- Train and supervise an irrigation team.
- Ensure all staff and contractors are correctly inducted and trained on-site.
- Provide the Farm Manager with regular updates on irrigation activities that relate to orchard performance.
About the Role
Our client is part of a major US-based investment firm, with an existing 860 hectares of trees planted, the Riverland property is undergoing an additional 1640-hectare expansion to become one of the largest almond orchards in Australia. As Irrigation Manager, you will play an instrumental role in supporting the success and sustainability of this development.
About You
The successful candidate will have proven experience as a leader in a large-scale orchard operation, ideally within almond or similar tree crops. You will have excellent project management skills, be highly analytical with a focus on continuous improvement, and possess strong communication and team management abilities.
