Do you have a passion for irrigation and Turf Management? Reporting to the Team Leader Irrigation & Turf Management, the Technical Support Officer is responsible for Council’s irrigation/Turf Management assets, overseeing programs including scheduling, inspection, asset maintenance and capital work programs for Premier sporting ovals, neighbourhood and local reserves in line with Council’s strategic approach.
Duties include:
- Update the Rehabilitation Plan in accordance to Open Space Policy by undertaking condition assessments of irrigation assets and turf and monitoring asset condition.
- Implement the Demand and Water Loss Management Plan by monitoring water consumption, adjusting water usage in accordance to the Irrigation Schedule and eliminating water loss.
- Develop technical specifications, concept designs, Irrigation Schedules based on Open Space Policy taking into consideration IPOS standards and the Rehabilitation Plan.
- Undertake reactive and programmed work detailed in the weekly work plans.
- Manage Councils Irrigation Central Control System and optimise irrigation cycles, including firmware and network issues and hardware upgrades to assist with network communication.

About you- Certificate 3 in Irrigation Technology or minimum 5 years’ experience in Irrigation & Turf Management
- Hold a restricted Plumbers License
- Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card)
- Current Class C Drivers License
- Understanding of IPOS and the Code of Practice
- Ability to prioritise work dependent on asset class
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have a current DHS General Employment Probity or the willingness to obtain one
- Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical

Salary range is between $85,553- $91,249 per annum + superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications.
