As our ISP Carrier Technician, you will work with our Technology teams to ensure a cohesive approach Aussie Broadband's Data Centres & Facilities. You will possess:
A solid understanding of the telco and data centre industry.
Knowledge of current ISP and Server hardware and be able to demonstrate technical understanding of fibre and copper technologies.
Experience of modern Data Centre operations.
NBN and Telstra portal knowledge including:
Access site permissions
Ordering and cancelling services
Escalation processes
Access site permissions
Excellent time management and ability to plan workloads and travel.
Australian Drivers License.
Ability to work on-call as required.
Certificate III in IT preferred but not essential
As a skilled technician in the internet service provider field, you will be responsible for:
OpticsHandling: Managing the installation and patching of transceivers in switch and routing equipment.
FibreInsight: Identifying different fibre patch lead types and connectors.
Console Proficiency: Use of console connections.
LocalKnowledge: Have a solid understanding of the geographical area you'll operate in whilst also being a confident and proficient driver.
Hardware. Installing networking equipment into racks.
Documentation. Communicating work planning and work accomplished. Use of Netbox, Email, Slack etc
